Franco Taverna

Franco and a couple of young club volunteers started the first All Abilities program at his local soccer club in 2008. The success of the program attracted requests to help build similar ones across the province.  Franco is a Professor at the University of Toronto whose students have volunteered with the program since the very first season and continue to be involved through course placements and career and development opportunities.  He has received a City of Pickering Civic award and Durham Region Soccer Association volunteer award for his work with the accessible soccer programs.
