About Anna
Anna is a McMaster Kinesiology graduate who is currently pursuing her Recreation Therapy Diploma at Mohawk College. Anna became involved with adapted sports when she started volunteering with the All Abilities Soccer program when it was founded in 2008. Since then, she has always been interested and passionate about improving circumstances and opportunities for people with disabilities.
She is a member of the City of Pickering’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, and has experience coaching (soccer and gymnastics), providing respite care, in long term care, as a supply EA in elementary school, and more. She completed an undergraduate thesis research project in the MacStroke Canada lab at McMaster, and was a volunteer at the Physical Activity Centre of Excellence in the MacWheelers program. As Anna approaches completion of her diploma program, she hopes to build a career using her knowledge of Kinesiology and Recreation Therapy with the goal of increasing the volume and quality of inclusive and adapted community recreation programs.
