We want all kids, regardless of ability,
to have fun and make friends through sports and play.

All kids love to play. All kids should have the OPPORTUNITY to play. However, children with disabilities have far fewer opportunities to join sports programs, have fun and make friends.

The Centre for Accessible Sport and Play is a not for profit dedicated to supporting and mobilizing resources within the community to provide opportunities for kids with disabilities to play sports, and participate in high quality recreation and play programming through training, support, innovation and delivery. The goal is to  overcome the barriers that are preventing or limiting community organizations, including municipal recreation, from offering high quality adapted programs.  By building the community’s capacity to be inclusive, everyone can play.

BUILD

When there are more programs, with more variety, in more places to choose from, all adapted for quality participation, MORE KIDS CAN PLAY.

We help any organization, big or small, new or old to adapt existing programs, or design brand new quality programming so that all kids can play.

PLAY

When programs are accessible and adapted for quality participation, MORE KIDS CAN PLAY.

We provide quality programs and spaces for kids with disabilities to have fun, make friends, get active and enjoy all the benefits of sport and play. We continually adapt and innovate to overcome barriers to participation for kids, parents, volunteers, teachers and program builders.

LEARN

When motivated people have the right training and a clear pathway for impact, more people can help create more inclusive programs to allow more children with disabilities to play.

We provide training for volunteers, coaches, instructors and play leaders. Explore exciting learning, volunteer and career opportunities with us, and become a leader of the inclusive programs of tomorrow.

When expert knowledge is translated to action, an inaccessible world can be transformed into one filled with opportunities, and desired outcomes.  More kids with disabilities will have fun, make friends and thrive through innovative sports and play programming.

We provide the classroom (our field of kids) and the research skills (our national research partners) to build quality programming, and desired outcomes for kids.
